Mary Shenouda’s personal experience with suffering and illness began when she was in the second grade. She spent the first half of her lifetime dealing with doctors and misdiagnoses. In her own words, she was constantly: “battling pain and illness while doctor after doctor told me it was all in my head and completely psychosomatic.”
Her suffering was relentless and it also became exacerbated in her twenties. That’s when she began researching independently for answers that had been eluding traditional doctors. She discovered that one of the root causes of all her ailments was a baseline issue of Celiac disease and other dietary intolerances.
Dedicated research led Mary to adopt the Paleo Diet, which includes meats, seafood, vegetables, fruits, tubers and seeds. This dramatic dietary change was the key to eliminating all her symptoms. She says, “Within months, a lifetime of pain and sickness began to disappear. Migraines, inflamed skin, nausea, hives, depression, digestive, muscular and joint pain all gone.”
Her miraculously swift recovery compelled her to share her revolutionary insights for the benefit of others facing similar dilemmas. She soon had a thriving business as a private coach and chef for famous people and athletic professionals.
All her clients love her work. It’s not just the Paleo Diet that attracts them. It’s her compassionate nature—seeded from personal suffering and further nurtured by her volunteer counseling in the fields of hospice, domestic violence against women and youth-at-risk. Her other work as a public relations agent in Hollywood gave her exposure to many high profile people and events. Combine this with her extensive online exposure and executive sales experience, and you’ve got a recipe for a brilliant, articulate, knowledgeable and connected health-coach advocate.
Mary brings her full life experiences into her work. She is innately aware of different aspects of a healing process and incorporates a holistic plan that takes attitude, psychology, and lifestyle choices into account as much as diet. In addition to being a Personal Paleo Chef and Health-Coach and Advisor, she also co owns CleanEats.
