I couldn’t have been more honored to be featured in my home town newspaper the Palisadian Post. Growing up in Pacific Palisades, Ca this was the one thing I looked forward to every Thursday. I would run to the mail box, pull out the post and instantly start flipping through the pages. Most importantly getting to the sports pages where I just prayed to catch a photo of me in action running down the soccer field. And I was so lucky to have that moment many times, with soccer, theater and my extra curricular activities in the the Pacific Palisades. (I may or may not have competed in the Miss Palisades Pageant back in 1996. My talent? I performed “Some People” from Gypsy. Yes… I was a great Ethel Merman… but I digress) As a young girl, my dream was to have a feature about me in the newspaper. As I graduated collage and grew professionally it was always something I came back too. When I was living in New York City, and came home to the Palisades to visit my parents, I would still grab the post and read through! This time looking at who was featured, what stories they were sharing dreaming bigger and bigger.
And then this story happened. January 19th 2015, my dream came true. A beautiful story and feature in the newspaper that holds a big piece of my heart and my life history. Something to add to the stacks of tears from growing up and definitely something to hang on my parents refrigerator.
