Brittney Castro loves to help people learn to manage their money in a fun, stress-free way. She’s enjoyed organizing money since her childhood, when she used to play with a fake cash register. She says her parents set a prime example with the way in which they managed their finances as a middle class family. “By watching my parents manage their money, I learned the power of living within your means, budgeting and having good credit,” she says. “My parents taught by example… I learned early on that if you love your money, it will love you back.”
Brittany has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Financial Planning magazine, Investment News and REP.
In her company, Financially Wise Women, Brittany shares her vision of money as a tool. This helps people transform their mindset regarding financial planning. She facilitates the planning process and helps people define goals. Her clients feel comfortable with her coaching—they can sense how much she loves to serve others. Authenticity and clarity shine through her work and gives people confidence in the benefit of her services.
As a woman who used to feel stressed about the future and her money, she encountered advisors who communicated in counter-productive ways that made women feel uncomfortable, humiliated, and confused. These experiences and observations led her to develop a dream of working with women specifically, as she understands their difficulties as well as their particular long-term goals and concerns.
“I focus my practice on helping people like me: busy professional and entrepreneurial women who are passionate about life,” Brittany says.
Brittany lives a full, balanced and conscious life. Her day begins with meditation, journaling, yoga and drinking green juice. She brings a calm and happy presence to her financial-planning practice. She also offers online money classes, live workshops, weekly YouTube videos and emails.
Brittany says: “I think it’s extremely important to seek out mentors or coaches—or cheerleaders—who will root you on and really get behind you and support you with the love, the wisdom, the resources—whatever you need—to embark on this entrepreneur path.”
