Find My Song is a free collaborative international music platform online startup—a professional site for musicians to meet and join forces with kindred artists in their field. It also serves as a place they can work on songs together, uploading samples, tracks, lyrics, etc.
Vince Fong, 22-year-old CEO and his co-founder, COO Honeyman—were thrilled to be chosen to enter the South By Southwest “Student Startup Madness competition in Austin. They told Business Insider that the opportunity to pitch in front of judges at such a huge tech event was amazing. Vince told them that the context helped him learn think through potential weaknesses of their challenging business model. The pair placed in the contest and won fifty thousand dollars of credits on Google cloud.
Networking and staying on top of what’s happening in both technology and music are of utmost importance to Fong and Honeyman, who said: "If you read what's happening online, you're trailing what's going on. Here [at SXSW], you see what's really coming out so you can capitalize on the trends."
The original idea struck the pair when they noticed how L.A. musicians had trouble linking up with musicians who shared the same skills and interested. "We wanted a platform for people to find other musicians, but took it a step further," Fong said. Being based in the center of L.A., the pair understood how crucial making the right connections is.
