> Catherine Cassidy ‘05 founded U*styled in 2008 with the intention of creating a company that empowered women to live their lives in style. Describing U*styled’s mission as “supporting youin transforming your life and style from good togreat,” Cassidy has worked with time-starved professional women across industries to help them streamline their wardrobes, create their own personal “style statement,” and make getting ready simple, easy and effortless. She also has a knack for creating “unique speaking wardrobes utilizing much of what is already in one’s closet!”
Cassidy began her career in fashion with a summer job at Nordstrom. That led to a position at the corporate headquarters of Robinsons May which soon brought Cassidy to BCBG as an integral part in the building of its merchandising team. She worked closely with design and buying to ensure monthly deliveries were relevant to both fashion trends and the needs of customers. Success meant finding the best assortment and ratio of tops, bottoms, skirts and dresses, a formula now applied to the closets of U*styled’s clients. It was Cassidy’s time at BCBG that made it clear to her that women were “struggling to find balance while having it all.”
Cassidy has recently been offering a new virtual program, 21 Days of Style. This program is unique and unprecedented in the industry with the way it guides women through the process of creating a style statement, cleansing their closets and dressing for their particular body type in a virtual group setting. She also publishes The Power of Style, a weekly e-newsletter full of fashion hints and tips. In addition to U*styled, Cassidy is a dedicated volunteer with organizations that empower women and inspire change. She is a member of Step Up and Women for Wishes (Make a Wish Foundation) as well as president of USC Town & Gown Jr. Auxiliary of Los Angeles.
